Let me begin with a disclaimer.
**I am a forgiven Christian. I have never and will never claim that I am perfect or better than anyone else. There is not one perfect Christian on the face of the earth and we are all sinners saved by grace. I have done my share of sinning and I will mess up and sin some more - because I am human, not because I want to. Even Paul, in his writing of the book of Romans struggled with sin: For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do...with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. (Romans 7:15, 25) At times, my words are rather blunt and harsh when passionately sharing my point of view. I am working on being better in that area, but have a long way to go...as you will see if you read to the end of this particular writing.** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Just a few thoughts about news headlines on this lovely February day... (Abortion): There are people claiming to be followers of Christ who actually believe horrors such as abortion fall under the category of "doing God's work". People proudly stand up before us and demand that killing the unborn is okay. It's not. No matter how you look at it and try to rationalize, it's just not. The big cry now is "Women are going to die if you make it harder to get an abortion!" First of all, do you realize that women also die because of abortion? Oh, and let's not forget all the "women" who were ripped from the womb, because, you know, those little girl babies would have become women someday. But abortion plays God and doesn't allow them that right. Secondly, abortion is not a form of birth control. It's really no big deal today, though, because women can just kill the result of their carelessness. I am aware that my words here will not change the minds of those in favor of abortion. Unfortunately, lives will continue to be "interrupted" (a medical professional actually used this term in trying to convince a family member to abort - I'll save that story for another day, but I will say "Thank God they did not take her advice!"). Here's where your views get personal: abortion is your choice - stop making it mine. Just stop. Don't force me to fund it for you. You want it, you pay for it. (Refugees): Even non-followers of Christ are using scripture to further their agendas. Twisting and using God's Word claiming, among so many other things, that we cannot be true Christians while shutting out refugees. (Which is not the purpose of the ban, by the way. Yes, I am aware that there have been travel hiccups, but nothing that can't eventually be solved. Of course, had you been here LEGALLY...) Now people are arguing over which countries are included in the temporary ban. Common sense tells us they do pose a threat when they are unwilling to cooperate and identify potential security risks. President Trump is not banning Muslims. He is trying to keep terrorists out of our country. I'll throw this out there just in case everyone doesn't know: Terrorists have been and still are a major threat to our country. I am not saying we should ignore the poor and oppressed women and children who are seeking refuge from the terrors of their own countries. This temporary ban is not a war against them. It is a necessary step taken to ensure the safety of our nation. Yours and mine. A nation where you have the right to throw your tantrums just as I have the right not to. That does not make me any less concerned about those in need. So go ahead and post those heart-wrenching photos of the children and wrongly accuse us of not having compassion. I will counter with pictures of bloodied and mutilated bodies at the hands of the very terrorists we are trying to keep out. (America): We have those who didn't mind following a Muslim president who tried his best to ruin the United States. Funding terrorists, bringing illegal immigrants in by the thousands, putting weapons in the hands of terrorists while trying to take away our source of self-defense (Yes). A traitor who would lie to our faces, feed rioting and sign orders while all eyes were focused on destruction. And even now, he is praising hate protests and encouraging more division. For some reason, those of you who won't accept defeat continue to trash our new president rather than give him a chance to do what he said he would: Make America Great Again. Obviously, that isn't something that you want for the very country you live in. Personally, I'd like to see him succeed. In case you have forgotten, this is America. I'll say it again. THIS IS AMERICA. A-mer-i-ca. Not the disrespectful version - 'merica, but AMERICA. Perhaps it's okay once again to fly our flag and not offend or be arrested for it. You live here. By choice. If you came here from another country and still want to celebrate the "independence" and traditions of that country, fine. But don't expect America to quit celebrating ours. And don't demand for us to accept your ways of life as our own (Sharia Law, anyone?) Our current president has followed through with so many promises in a few short days and I think it's scaring you. (Women): Scaring you in to making complete fools of yourselves. Vagina hats and costumes. Really? Now that certainly makes me proud to be a woman. Actually, I am proud to be a woman, but not your kind and not because of your vulgarity. I embrace the very fact that I am exactly how God made me. I do not have to prove to the world...well, I'm not exactly sure what you were trying to prove during your psychotic little march... Anyway, I'm just glad that was #NotMyMarch. (Pu**y): Oh. So you want to bring up the word that was used 11 years ago. Ok, sure. Let's do go there. Yes, he said it. And you're upset because your son is saying it now. Well, let me tell you something you might not already know. Your son said it before the media made it a national word. He's just using the current popularity of it as an excuse. If your boy is so innocent, he would be respectful and still not say it. But wait. Now you say it offended you. Get over it. Obviously, you've led a very sheltered life. Maybe you attended an all-girl school where no one would ever dream of saying "that word"! Me? I went to a school with boys. Some were polite and some not so much. And guess what? That was more than 11 years ago and that word existed way back then! Oh no! Heaven forbid! We girls learned how to survive phrases like, "Hey! Why don't you come sit on my lap and let's talk about the first thing that pops up?" Or, while heading down the hall to our next class we passed boys who would be holding their hands breast high, making squeezing gestures. Guess what? Here's a news flash for ya: that might have been high school, but many grown men act the same way. Some of those grown men eventually grow up. And a few even become president. Boys today did not just wake up to a new word, even though the media wants you to believe it. With all of the tragic things going on in the world, you are stuck on a few words and actions that have nothing to do with our president in this present day. You cry for equality with men, yet you get butt hurt if someone says something that offends you. Most guys I know don't wear their feelings on their sleeves and run off crying about it. Many see you as weak and laugh at your stupidity. Especially when you expect to be treated as equals. And especially when you are wearing vaginas on your heads. And, while we are on the subject of past vulgarities, surely you have seen the YouTube video of Obama sharing his erection with the girls on one of his flights... No? Really. Well, as I said, You only see what you want to see.

Let me get right to the point. If you have one of “those”, use the boy’s room. If you don’t, use the girl’s room. Plain and simple. End of story. Period. This blog post could and should end right here. Nothing else really needs to be said. But for the sake of those who might not understand, let’s go a little further. So what if you are a male with all the attachments and you don’t like it? Too bad. Utilize the bathroom that is designated for you, at least until you remove unwanted body parts. No little girl should have to share a bathroom with a grown man. I’m kind of concerned about a grown man (whether he/she thinks he/she is or not) who wants to use the restroom with girls, anyway. How many pedophiles (male or female) will twist the law for their own sick purposes? Yep. It will happen. At the very least, boys will pretend to be transgender, etc. so they can sneak a peak in a girl’s/women’s restroom. And females. Just take a deep breath and walk through those doors sporting that degrading skirted figure. (I promise, she won’t hurt you.) Take care of your business and get out. We won’t look at you. Come on, people! Really? Don’t you think you are taking this “nobody’s gonna tell me how to live my life” attitude just a tad bit too far? Do you realize how ridiculous this argument is? Obviously not. Because now we have entertainers pulling their shows where a state has voted to keep bathrooms the way they have always been. The Bathroom Law. Civil Rights Protection. Progress? Prejudice. Bigotry. Intolerance? Wow. This should never have even made it to the polls. You know…I don’t really care if you are gay, lesbian, bi, transgender, or children of those parents who have decided that their offspring aren’t male or female until they grow up and decide on their own what they want to be. Seriously, I really don’t care. Just stop whining, complaining and crying for special treatment. And try a little common sense. **Addendum 5.13.2016: And now, the creature that has been poorly acting as a president has issued warnings to every public school across the country to allow anyone to enter bathrooms with my grandchildren. Or else. Cool, obama. (yes, no capital letter to begin your name - I have no respect for you whatsoever and you do not deserve a capital letter, nor do you deserve the title of Mr. Or president. Or human. You are nothing but pure evil.) Really cool. Common. Sense.
Two simple words. Together, they are defined in the dictionary as: [kom-uhn] [sens] (noun) 1. sound practical judgment that is independent of specialized knowledge, training, or the like; normal native intelligence. Or, as stated in the British dictionary: 1. plain ordinary good judgment; sound practical sense Sometime, in the not-so-distant past, these two words were tossed out the window and replaced with an alarming inability to think and produce good judgment. Take note of the descriptive terminology used in defining 'common sense':
The next line should read: Free to All Who Apply! Except, not everyone applies and certainly not all are qualified. The idea for this blog has been bouncing around in my head for a couple of years and I have decided that it is time. Perhaps it's the craziness of this year's election, the ridiculous headlines that we read (every. single. day), or maybe it's simply the need to diminish my stacks of scribbled-down 'common sense' pet peeves that have piled up around me over time. Whatever the reason, it has begun. It seems to me that this ol' world has gone a little crazy and lacks in many things. We can surely regain some order with even the smallest amount of common sense. Well, that and a huge amount of prayers! So, if it be your wish, please sit back and join me on this journey. Hopefully, you will see humor in some of my thoughts and we can share a few laughs. I'm sure there will be times that you absolutely do not agree with a single word I type. But, who knows? It's possible there may even be a few tears along the way. Stay tuned. |
